Home

Welcome to Spellbinder Books’ online home!

We are an independent, locally-owned bookstore located in Bishop, California – at the foot of the majestic Eastern Sierra Nevada.

Our shelves are stocked with thousands of titles, from local favorites to national bestsellers. We carry both used and new books, too! Although we’re too small to have every book always in stock, we do our best to carry a wide range of books for all ages and interests. Anything we don’t have on hand, we are happy to order for you – you can call us, stop by, or use the handy special order form right here on our site. You’ll also find calendars, cards, Frances Cholewa pottery and other gifts here at Spellbinder.

Things are abuzz in the back of our building, too; the Pupfish Café has made their debut! They’re now open Tuesday through Saturday, 7am to 3pm, Sunday 8am to 2pm. Janette and her crew work to provide tasty breakfasts and lunches, and their espresso drinks and goodies are without parallel. The menu is as organic/locally-sourced as possible. You can learn more and get on the Pupfish mailing list at www.pupfishcafe.com.

At Spellbinder Books, we love books and reading – and we love where we live! We’re proud of our store and our community; we hope you can visit us soon.
